This is a corny little song I wrote back in high school. I thought of it again the other day when we were in Home Fellowship Group and David O'Hara said (in his usual manner and tone that gets right at your heart), "Is there any sin we can commit that God will not forgive? Is there any frequency of sin? Duration of sin? Recurrence of sin?" The answer, of course, is no. Nothing we do can surprise Him, He knew we'd be hopeless sinners from the dawn of creation...still, He chose to make the ultimate sacrafice on our behalf!
How many times have I asked You
to forgive all the things I've done?
Trying so hard to hide from You,
But, there was nowhere to run
I'm so afraid of showing You exactly what I've become
Chorus:
But, You already knew
And still, you sent Your Son
You already knew, before the wrong was done
And, I can guarantee,
If they knew the sin in me,
I would be rejected by everyone
But, You already knew
And Your love has just begun
I can't provide a shield from sin, so
Into your arms I run
And though I may fall again and again
The battle has long been won
Your precious love is new everyday
Like the powerful, rising sun
Chorus

Good stuff Anne! i may need to print this and put it to a melody!
I agree, such perfect words!! :)
jenea, I have a tune to it, but didn't like it. Feel free
Very impressive....the words, of course...but also that you wrote this in high school. The only songs I knew in high school were my school fight song & "here's to sister so-and-so"! Ha!
I had no idea you were a song writer! Do you sing too??? What else do I need to know! Great words!
